Howard Seftel's 10 best meals for Arizona Restaurant Week
It's not often you can have your cake and eat it, too.But during Arizona Restaurant Week, which runs statewide from Saturday, Sept. 17, through Sunday, Sept. 25, you can also have your foie gras, lamb osso buco and prime-grade beef tenderloin and eat them, as well. And you can do it at cut-rate prices.
In Greater Phoenix, some 140 different restaurants are participating, each offering three-course, fixed price dinners, with several options for each course. The price is also right: either $30 or $40 (plus beverage, tax and tip).
What's the catch? None, really. We're still in the summer doldrums, and the tourist season is six weeks away. The restaurants are hoping to lure you in, and impress you enough to make you return as a regular guest.
After inspecting the menus, I've selected the top 10 options (in alphabetical order), and put together a meal based on culinary interest and value.
Note that reservations fill quickly, so act swiftly. You'll find a complete list of participating restaurants, menus and prices at arizonarestaurantweek.com. Read more
