Navigate Events of Scottsdale Culinary Fest 2012
By Amanda Ghezzi-Rumore • Apr 16th, 2012
I know many who count down the days to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. This celebration honoring the Arizona dining industry has evolved into one of the highest acclaimed festivals in the Phoenix area and 2012 is no exception. Even for those who are experienced Culinary Fest supporters the endless options can become overwhelming. The key event, the Great Arizona Picnic, is on Saturday and Sunday April 21 and 22, at the Scottsdale Civic Center. There are also many secondary events at the Fest during the weekend, such as shows with Food Network Stars Adam Richman & Andrew Zimmern and the Southwest Festival of Beers.

Business Insider: Its the best time to buy a home in 20 years!
Corelogic has called the housing bottom. This is big coming from "the most sober shop when it comes to real estate," notes trader @dutch_book.
Corelogic chief economist Mark Fleming observes: "The real estate market may be experiencing a nascent recovery as many of the statics continue to show slight positive signals."
Fleming goes beyond calling the bottom to say that this is the best time to buy in decades, based on the housing affordability index:

Recovery Underway, but Supply and Demand Out of Balance
You could say that Phoenix is a seller’s market this spring, although there’s very little real estate to buy. Michael Orr, director of the Center for Real Estate Theory and Practice at the W. P. Carey School of Business, reports that with interest rates low, the economy beginning to stir and prices very affordable compared to salaries and rental rates, a swift recovery could be in the cards. But supply is so tight that “buying a house is often quite a struggle,” he said. Supply is down 42 percent, he said. In fact, the inventory of homes under $250,000 is only a 25 day supply -- highly unusual. Bottom line? After several years of confusingly volatile conditions, the market is now in clear focus: it is very imbalanced.

CHANDLER, AZ -
There is good news for people who are looking to sell their homes.
After years of over supply, homes are moving and they're moving fast.
"Some homes are only on the market for a few hours before they're sold," said real estate agent Micaela Sticka.
